Killerslayer apparel by Veggiesomething

KILLER-SLAYER

Killerslayer (KSLY) is a concept lifestyle label established by James Liu aka Veggiesomething in 2007. It was founded as a vehicle to finally combine his love for art, design, and streetwear. Prior to Killerslayer, Veggiesomething had been releasing teeshirts for his various projects for over a decade. This coming April 7th, the Killerslayer-website will be relaunching - along with three tee-shirt designs in 2 super limited colorways (for each tee design). Above is a sneak-peek at the designs, courtesy of James!

The first shirt will feature Di Di from House of Liu (Tagged on TRE as designer toys by Crazy Label). The second shirt will feature Killerslayer's mascot Stan. The third shirt will feature the rabbit from Sugar Bandits. Killerslayer also plans to introduce a new super limited teeshirt design around once a month. Other than their mascot Stan's design, the shirts will not be reprinted. "Once they are gone, they are gone."

Zoo Of The Dead by Alex Poutiainen

From the maker of “Rise and Fall of the Nazi Dinosaurs” stop-mo animated toy-flick - Alex Poutiainen returns with a tale of two big game hunters' visit to the zoo - which is subsequently disrupted by an outbreak of a zombie plague. ZOO OF THE DEAD was filmed and edited in 6 days, with a budget of US$24.

(Cheers for the headsup, Alex!)

The Creature: GLO Edition by The Sucklord

GID-CREATURE

The SUCKLORD-says: "Speaking of the CREATURE, there's no way I'm gonna just walk away from such a bona fide hit if people are still down to pay for it. Sure the Classic color is sold out, but here is a new version in, what else? GLOW-IN-THE-FUCKING-DARK. Yeah, it looks cool. This is a 50 piece edition, a steal for $30. Comes in a bag."

[Order it now via the Suckstore] - and hell, yeah, it looks uber-cool, IMHO!

SUCKLORD-adds: "There is no carded version of this one. I am not counting this against the Final Eleven. I plan to do a handful of new colors of some of the older figures, none of which will count against the eleven. It will only count if it is a brand new figure never before made. Color variations, on the other hand, are just whatever I want to do without limits. That's how I'm livin."

Monsters-In-Drag: MISS THING by The Sucklord

MISS-THING

Behold: MISS THING, MONSTERS IN DRAG = a bootleg-toy by the suckadelic-SUCKLORD giving a familiar iron-avenger a drag-do-over, completed with orange tresses. 40 pcs were made and are priced at US$35-per. Order yours @ the Suckstore.

[CLICK THRU for more pics and product description]

SUCKLORD-says: " She is kind of a 1950s style Gorilla-Robot hybrid, but with the soul of a woman. This is just a funny idea that has been floating around in my head since I began this series."

"This is the latest installment in the dwindling BOOTLEG series. Only 9 more in the so called "FINAL ELEVEN" to go. This one is kind of a B-Side, no way am I gonna top the CREATURE. I'm told it's going to be my best toy of 2009. Doesn't leave me anywhere to go but down, so here goes with what I predict may be a sleeper figure. "

This shark, swallow your peg whole: SUCK-SHARK Suck Peg by The Sucklord

SUCKLORD-says: "Keeping the SUCKPEGS refreshed with a new Delux offering, The Suck Shark. This is obviously my tribute to JAWS, a yet-untapped Suckadelic Influence that needed some ironic attention. He is a little hand-sculpted Great White Shark (carcaridon carcarius ) He comes with a water base for him to terrorize. I know a lot of people are doing shark toys, why should I be any different? But how many of them come with their own little ocean? I would venture not many."

SUCK-SHARK

Limited to 40 pieces priced at US$45-per - available online @ the Suckstore. Sucklord-adds: "This was the hardest Suck Peg to make yet, due to the hand sculpting and brush painting, two things I don't usually do on my bootlegs. This is the first color version out of four. We will follow soon with the STAR SHARK, THE PSYCH SHARK, and The SHIT SHARK. All coming later this year. Look out."

MMS DX The JOKER in 1/6 by Hot Toys

And so the 1/6-gauntlet has indeed been thrown down, with Hot Toys' spanking new feature development for their 1/6th-scaled action figures - namely the "Parallel Eyeball Rolling System (PERS)", which features Translucent Iris, Simultaneous Positionable Eyeball Function in all direction, work naturally like human eyes ~ which puts them in direct competition with ENTERBAY's "360 Eyeball System" (seen in their Mr. Bean & Bruce Lee figures). And who benefits in the end? The toy-collectors, IMHO. Release-date is pegged at 2nd-3rd quarter of 2009, with no price-point mentioned as yet (will update once I get the info).

DX-JOKER-02

Besides the eye-popping eye-rolling system - the duo-figures-in-one DX-set also features sculpt-work by YULLI and paintwork by JC Hong (honoring Heath Ledger with this exceptional sculpt, IMHO). The immaculate cut of HARUE Creative's (Hai Lim) tailoring is effective and breathtaking here. (No baggy-fits that plague most general 1/6th-figures).
