SDCC-Release: GWINPOSTERS (Gwin Imposters) by October Toys for San Diego Comic Con 2010 (Booth 4838)

For folks not in the know, the hosts of Toy Break, George and Ayleen Gaspar, also runs October Toys, creators of GWIN (non blind-boxed mini figures). And for this coming San Diego Comic Con 2010 [tagged], they have lined-up a group of "celebrity"-themed figures dubbed GWINPOSTERS (aka "Gwin Imposters" ~ recognize the artists they are referring to?).

Featuring hand-cast sculpted resin heads on custom painted vinyl Gwins, the Gwinposters are limited to 10 pcs of each style, and are priced at US$25 each, or a complete set of 4 for US$80 (Each figure individual packed in custom package). Make haste towards October Toys Booth #4838 at SDCC and no, I'd NOT recommend you to waddle like a penguin to get at them!

Previews & Print for Glimpse of Truth by Coarse @ Rotofugi Gallery (July 16-Aug 8)

The GLIMPSE OF TRUTH art show opened Friday July 16th at Rotofugi [blogged] and featured new photography, sculpture and paintings by Coarse ~ and if you were unable to physically attend the launch, do CLICK THRU for a select preview. Also shown above is an image made into a A2-sized Offset Litho Print, priced at US$5 each. Dubbed "New Territories", the first 100 persons attending the event were able to receive said print for FREE! [Tweet]. Glimpse Of Truth exhibits thru August 8th, 2010.

SDCC-Exclusive Dumny from Sucklord @ San Diego Comic Con 2010

Well, how may you score a Suckadelic SDCC-Exclusive edition Dumny from the Sucklord at the coming San Diego Comic Con 2010 [tagged]? Especially if he does not have a specific booth to display them out of? Well, you jolly well just have to track the dude down and wrangle one from him (he has it on his person, and is willing to do deals off to a corner pr sumsuch bootleggery-like happenstance *cough*). But be warned, there are only 5 of these vinyl-dudes at SDCC!

About That Live-Action Gatchaman Commercial for NTT East

I first posted about the Gatchaman (aka "G-Force" aka "Battle of the Planets") live-action commercial for NTT East back in 2007, and now with the new-found excitement with the Imagi teaser trailer video posted yesterday (of a CG-animated film which in theory is in limbo as Imagi has closed down since February 2010), I'd thought to "relive" the glory days of old, when Japanese pop-group SMAP donned the uniforms of the Science Ninja Team! (Too bad Princess wasn't in it)

FYI: The video posted above shows both of the ads back-to-back (which in fact were produced in the year 2000 to promote NTT's ISDN service).

Panda King Nightmare Edition by Angry Woebots x Silent Stage for San Diego Comic Con 2010

Bigshot Toyworks for San Diego Comic Con 2010

Bigshot Toyworks will be blazing a trail at this year's San Diego Comic Con 2010 [tagged] ~ with an awesome selection of resin-treats, reveals and debuts happening in various booths. The second and final colorway of the "MISFORTUNATE TRAVELER" resin statue,
designed by Chris Ryniak and Jonathan Bergeron. [tagged / First colorway here]


Both Nathan Jurevicius' 7-inch tall resin SCARY GIRL [tagged] and the 6.5 inch tall Misfortunate Traveler will be on display at the DKE Toys Booth #4732, as well as being made available for wholesale via DKE.


Jeff Soto's THE SEEKER vinyl figure stands 12 inches tall [tagged]. Revealed so far are the blue/turquoise (above-left) and the recently featured "GHOST SEEKER" (above-right) a Hi-Fructose exclusive edition ~ 50 pcs of which will be made available at the Hi-Fructose booth #4939 (Price not revealed).


Previously seen as a full-body statue (shown below for reference), Travis Louie's UNCLE SIX EYES has "changed course" and will be released as a 10" bust instead. The final production prototype will be available to view at the Hi-Fructose booth #4939.




Also on-show at the Hi-Fructose booth, is the prototype of a new 10" tall statue ~ commissioned by Circa Survive and based on the painting by Esao Andrews used for their recently released album, "Blue Sky Noise" [blogged with more details].


Featured earlier, Mike Mignola's SKELETON HEAD is now a 9 inch tall resin bust (with an estimated Winter 2010-launch) ~ whose prototype will be available for viewing at Mignola's booth #4901.

Circa Survive's Blue Sky Noise Album Cover Art As Resin Statue by Bigshot Toyworks (Prototype on view @ San Diego Comic Con)

American rock band Circa Survive commissioned Bigshot Toyworks to produce a new statue based on the painting by Esao Andrews (utilized for their album cover of "Blue Sky Noise" / shown above-left). The result is the above-right eye-popping 10 inch tall resin sculpt! CLICK THRU for a closer look at both images.

The prototype of the statue will be available to view at the Hi-Fructose booth @ the coming San Diego Comic Con 2010 [tagged]. "The statue will be available directly from the band, and further details will be announced as they have been finalized."


Bigshot Toywork has previously been involved in other music (industry) related products, most notably being the JUKE-BOT for DJ Shadow & Cut Chemist's "Hard Sell" tour. BSTW be rock-stars themselves too!

Mike Mignola's Skeleton Head Resin Bust by Bigshot Toyworks (Prototype @ San Diego Comic Con Booth 4901)

Hellboy-creator and comic book artist extraordinaire, Mike Mignola will see a character creation of his turn into three-dimensional sculpt with SKELETON HEAD, courtesy of Bigshot Toyworks! Standing 9 inches tall, the resin bust is scheduled for a Winter 2010-launch. Meanwhile, the prototype will be available for your viewing pleasures @ Mignola's Booth #4901 at the coming San Diego Comic Con 2010 [tagged] ~ Tell'em TOYSREVIL Sent Ya!
