New "John Carter" Movie Trailer and Poster

I did like what I saw before - with it's visual reference to his American Civil War beginnings - but was not wholly "moved" to epicness, so to speak .. but seeing this brand new trailer for Disney's JOHN CARTER - I find myself excited to have a loo! Oh but for the victory of a trailer-with a triumphant-music-score! … I don't suppose a 1/6th-scale toy series would be out of the question? (Am sorry Triad Toys, I was referring to Hot Toys :p).

Starring Taylor Kitsch as "John Carter", whose journey mysteriously brings him to war on Mars, based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' 11-volume Barsoom series. I've not read the series, so I can not be swayed by any comparisons whatsoever, and so I intend to enjoy this flick (even tho I am not exactly a huge fan of Taylor lol). Check out the extremely slack-jobbed retro-looking pulp-cover-ish poster below:

Preduce X MMFK "Mr Hellyeah" deck series launch featuring Pharuephon Mukdasanit

PREDUCE-MAMAFAKA-01

Thailand-based designer Pharuephon Mukdasanit aka MAMAFAKA (of Bored Design) recently launched his Preduce X MMFK "Mr Hellyeah" deck series at Preduce @ Siam Square - featuring a swell selection of decks featuring his cycloptic "Mr.HellYeah!" character in various guises! Long admired his work since knowing about his work for CLEA 2010, these look exceptionally great to me! And you can check out more snaps of the launch part at this FB-album/

PREDUCE-MAMAFAKA-02

Also available is his "Mr.HellYeah! Sailor" print (the framed sailor-cyclopsc pic seen in above image-right hung on the wall). Featuring his etching technique, the print measures W33 x H42 cm, and priced 6,900 THB (With Out Frame) and 8,900 THB (With Frame). Email pharuephon@gmail.com for enquiries - tell him TOYSREVIL sent ya!

1/6 Super Armored Fighting Suit S.A.F.S. Snowman from Kow Yokoyama x Medicom Toy

MEDICOM-SAF-SNOWMAN-01

This had me excited just a bit, looking at it, and imagining how awesomeliciously-cool it would be to have an entire squad of these Maschinen Krieger S.A.F.S.s at a go! But alas, the US$1,500 price-point slams me down hard. Ah yes, pulverized-dreams can be so harsh, indeed …

The 1/6 Scale Super Armored Fighting Suit S.A.F.S. Snowman is produced by Medicom Toy, and is the second mecha to be produced and release based on the designs of famed Japanese artist and sculptor; Kow Yokoyama.

Standing 40cm (15 3/4 inches) tall - the mecha build is made of ABS plastic, metal, and PVC vinyl, while the articulated female pilot dons fabric tailored clothes. The product listing on BigBadToStore also mentions that the nose cone of the "Snowman" is attached via a strong magnet, so fear naught the "foolishness" of the design to those unfamiliar with Kow's storyline for this unit.

MEDICOM-SAF-SNOWMAN-02

As well listed is that the tip of the 47mm Prg.56 Laser Cannon acts as a 'switch', lighting up the model when turned. And you wondered where the price-point came from, eh? *Sigh* - Check out THIS FB-album for even more images, and dream along an unrequited dream with me, of owning this bad-boy-toy!

JOSHUA ARTONO: All in all we had a good time, and the collectors had so much fun. We had great reviews from local medias. Many people dropped by to the store and took some pictures. In the future, we would love to do this again on a slightly bigger scale.

WERESKUNK-01 WERESKUNK-02

REDEEMED-DARTH-VADER-01

Items of interest (to me anyways) is the Hot Toys Aliens 4 pc 12-inch Poseable Model Figure Set and the interesting-ish Star Wars Incinerator Trooper 12-inch Figure … but what really caught my attention was this Redeemed Anakin Skywalker Darth Vader 12-inch Figure Prototype - images of which are posted here. Like a Cosplay-gone-rogue, tis interesting to see this all-white version existing, IMHO. Go forth and bid nevertheless, true believers!
