I like the notion of "Halloween", although the only way folks celebrate the occasion here is via parties with flowing alcohol and an excuse to play dress up (ironically they don't do it for the "Hungry Ghost Festival", a Chinese equivalent ;p). But the notion of a Halloween-themed show is mighty fine, and Stranger Factory has the art to back up such a happenstance!

Launched at their Albuquerque-location recently, BEWITCHING 2 is their 2nd annual show which features a slew of artists known to flourish in the realm of "lowbrow art", which appeals to me greatly. Shown here are a few images of works from Kathie Olivas, Brandt Peters (principals of Circus Posterus) and their collective and cohorts, like Doktor A, DrilOne, Amanda Spayd, Chris Ryniak etc. The stand outs to me were the works from Yohei Kaneko, Shigeta Tanaka and Eno (shown below). Andrew Bell's I'd featured before, and the dioramic showcase dudded "The Masquerade" from Seymour is inspired!
"Two-Fisted Justice" from Dennis Larkins - to me - is an excellent example of "lowbrow art" as possibly categorized by simply on another level of "awesome", IMHO. Check out more images posted via strangerfactory.com (with the link providing ordering instructions).
