COSPLAY & TK Masks @ Re-Venture by 3A Toys (#RVHK2012)

With the character creations coming out of 3A Toys' factories, it might be pretty much a somewhat 'daunting' task to 'cosplay' the robots, but the humanoid characters? Ripe for cosplaying, methinks! Seen at launch night for Re-Venture on Saturday night was NOM deEPLUME and BAKA!

And while I am unsure if either were actual fan-cosplay or hired proxies (ala the two Tomorrow Queens), it was "interesting" to see their existence - although I have to say "Baka" was a bit "short" lah ... Hell, 3A might well make a 'killing' with 1:1-scaled pistols from NOM if ever they were produced tho! But yes, I am getting ahead of myself again here … Will the two cosplayers stand out, please? :)

Although I have to say, the production of the TK / Tomorrow King masks from 3A was BRILLIANT! Now EVERYONE can "cosplay" to be a TK! And with three styles of masks in existence (differing colors and one with a goatee), this may well be one of the 'cleverest' promo attempt I've seen in a while, IMHO. Heck, I WANT a TK Mask myself!

Live Painting & Artist Signing @ Re-Venture by 3A Toys (#RVHK2012)

As part of the opening night party for Re-Venture by 3A Toys, the festivities included a "live painting" session by artists Ashley Wood and Rufus Dayglo, with this painted wood panel the result. Seems every launch would include a live-painting spectacle, and that provides a sense of "LIVE" excitement to the proceedings, and I reckon is a welcomed aspect of any event these days.

There is something satisfying to see a blank canvas filled up pretty quick within a short duration of time - something which I had felt was like a "challenge" for the artist, and now? I reckon tis the 'fun' aspect to an otherwise "peek-and-buy" event as most events go, I reckon.

The second day (Sunday) of RVHK saw both Wood and Dayglo alongside William Wray for a scheduled signing session with their fans, sat in front of the 3A toy-wall/gallery, in an organized session (well, at least seen from images) which lasted three hours! Hey, a "live" demo and a signing session = a simple prerequisite bare minimum for 'events' these days, isn't it? *Schweet* ~ Check out more images of the signing session on the 3aVOX Facebook album.

HALO Reach @ Re-Venture by 3A Toys (#RVHK2012)

3A Toys sure is racking up the video-game license left right and center! What with VALVE and Kojima's Metal Gear Solid, they recently added HALO Reach to their line-up, and 1/6-scale Carters were on display at their recent Re-Venture show over the weekend! (I first posted the pic HERE). The little light in the helmet was a sweet touch, I have to say. Sometimes the smallest effect works wonders, IMHO.

On show were both a painted and an unpainted sculpt, and they do look impressive indeed. The thing about 3A-licenses, is that they do not necessarily go with the 'trend', but instead progress on their own, and start their own 'trend'. Kudos.

Metal Gear Solid @ Re-Venture by 3A Toys (#RVHK2012)

I am sure folks had a swell time gawking at the REX figure from 3A Toys at the weekend's Re-Venture show - from Kojima's METAL GEAR SOLID video game line, but it also saw the display debut of a prototype unpainted RAY - which looked great to me, even tho I do not play the video game lol (I first posted the pic HERE).

Tomorrow Queens & 1/6 Ladies @ Re-Venture by 3A Toys (#RVHK2012)

[Popbot's Lady Sham looking awesome / swell sculpt & paint-work]

Female-figurines looks to have a decently strong showing at the recent weekend's Re-Venture show by 3A Toys! Besides the 'new' ladies in 1/6th-scale (Lady Sham, TQ twins and Mrs Shadow), there was also the inclusion of two 1:1-sized "Tomorrow Queens" in cosplay (Yes, I felt their skirt could've been shorter - to match the toys - of course but then again that'll make me sound like a real 'dog', innit? Go, girls, GO! *cough*)

Mrs Shadow @ Re-Venture by 3A Toys (#RVHK2012)

So is this lady Little Shadow's mother? Spotted on display at the weekend's Re-Venture show by 3A Toys - I first posted the pic HERE, and wondered 'who' she was, as she was never revealed on any online sources before. Then I read on the 3A Legion FB-group that this may well be Mrs Shadow (the tear below the eye is a dead-giveaway, mentioned Chris 'Pinkerton' Chew ;p). Looks to be a hella woman, too!

FYI: I personally loved Little Shadow, but alas was unable to afford her when she was out on pre-order. Would be extremely swell to see her displayed alongside mummy dearest tho!

KROTE (with Kow Yokoyama) @ Re-Venture by 3A Toys (#RVHK2012)

One of the key figurines on show at Re-Venture by 3A Toys over the weekend, was 'KROTE' = a collaboration with famed Ma.K-creator Kow Yokoyama! (I first posted the pic HERE). On display was the unpainted prototype and it looks simply splendid! And while it may not look as different that it's original form, one can't expect all of their products to be re-imagined forms (like their Zaku 'Inspirational Model), do they?

Regardless of design-intentions, this looks ridiculously cool, and given 3A's track record of weathering their products? This looks set to become a stunner, IMHO! And the illumination in the figure - while switched-on - is a swell touch, methinks.

T.O.T.E.M. @ Re-Venture by 3A Toys (#RVHK2012)

Here is a closer-look at the T.O.T.E.M. robot figurine by 3A Toys (I first posted the pic HERE), recently on show at the weekend's Re-Venture show. And while we've previously seen the chasis (and frankly I was just fine with that form, actually LOL) and now, the figure is seen in it's full robot-form (as hinted earlier in a blurry image)! Pretty chunky, and I like my robots chunky! Although somehow it looses that charm I had felt initially for the piece - but you know what? It still looks as great, I'm sure.

Another figurine which made it's display debut, was this prototype of a carcass clad in a boiler-suit (a "mutated zombie" perhaps? ;p) … now imagine this beast with articulation. This T.O.T.E.M. Universe sure is shaping up to be something interesting, isn't it?

Real Steel @ Re-Venture by 3A Toys (#RVHK2012)

One of the key articulated figurines that caught my attention at the weekend's Re-Venture show from 3A Toys, is the display debut of their ATOM (I first posted the pic HERE) - from Dreamworks SKG's 'Real Steel' movie - alongside the previously announced MIDAS and the earlier available-for-pre-order AMBUSH (and subsequently will be available from retailers but without the Bambaland-exclusive "Controller").

Truth be told, if this was announced earlier, I would have considered collecting the set, as there is literally (at the very least) three figures to collect! And if 3A ever releases NOISY BOY or ZEUS (but please, no 'Twin-Cities' LOL), I would feint-faint! (heh) Oh well, toy-hindsight is always a biatch LOL

Disclaimer: Apologies if the names of the robot characters fly past you folks - especially if you have not watched the movie (I know it sure as heck did me!). Get clued in to the characters by checking out

VALVE @ Re-Venture by 3A Toys (#RVHK2012)

P-Body and Atlas from VALVE's Portal 2 spotted on display at the weekend's Re-Venture event (I first posted the pic HERE). Shown here are unpainted prototypes, and they look splendid! As accurate to their original forms (not including the cross-over Square posted earlier) as their video-game counter-parts (see below image), this is perhaps an extremely interesting release to come, and a testament to the ability of 3A Toys/Threezero, without a doubt, IMHO!

(Thanks to Brian of Tomopop for helping me identifying their names lol)

Popbot Kitties @ Re-Venture by 3A Toys (#RVHK2012)

This year's equivalent to 2010's 3A Beijing WWR Squares at the weekend's Re-Venture show, is Popbot's Kitties from 3A Toys. Made larger than life and in multiple colorways, I really enjoyed the collar-and-tie aspect of the figurine! Now, it would be interesting to see these figures being purchased by collectors and displayed around the world, ala Squares, it would be a sweet-sight indeed!

FYI: All 10 x Kitties have already been spoken for - so congrats to the 10 new lucky owners! Although I am not too sure if the below larger-the-life Kitty will be sitting in anyone else's living room soon… heh.

Solid Gold Death Mask @ Re-Venture by 3A Toys (#RVHK2012)

Here are some snaps and closer look at the SOLID GOLD DEATH MASK faux bronze statue on display at the weekend's Re-Venture show by 3A Toys. Since it's visual announcement just days before the event, the product looks pretty enticing, well, at least via the computer screen.

Designed by Rufus Dayglo, based on his original creation and comicbook, it would really be great to see an articulated version of the protagonist, IMHO.

[I can't put my finger on it, but I am quite liking this 'sculpture'…]
