Having been a fan of Buenos Aires, Argentina-based designer Patricio Oliver AKA PO! since way back (and meeting him in person back in 2010), I was delighted to receive his artbook "The Art Of The Tenebrae" in the mail today, for which I share some page snaps with you folks! But first, here's an intro of the book by myplasticheart:
"PRESS: "A culmination of 8 years of character illustration and toy design under The Tenebrae by PO! brand, this book contains all of Patricio’s most popular characters he has created since 2006. With over 117 colorful pages of beautiful illustrations, as well as in depth character studies and bios this book explores Patricio’s process from design concept and development to final product including early sketches, unreleased toy design concepts and exhibitions. It is a must have for all art and designer toy fans alike.""

And the softcover book is indeed splendidly designed and a handsome publication at that, brimming with design and inspiration, and if you've ever wondered about Patricio's "The Tenebrae", this book shows you the glorious concept and story that await folks who enjoy "world-building" and story-telling, but for the characters that I hope one day to see manifest beyond drawings and toys, to become an animated feature or series!
"The Tenebrae is a dark and magical world whose amazing inhabitants live on a never-ending struggle to coexist in peace." (www.thetenebrae.com)

Released at SDCC 2014, I'd previously featured closer peeks as well of selected pages here and here.

Published by Moebius and printed in Argentina, "The Art of The Tenebrae" has a SRP of US$20. This is essentially value-for-money, but that would be rude of me to insinuate as such, for it deserves a much loftier accolade and station, IMHO. I recommend you check out the publisher's Facebook page to find out how to get one for your own bookshelves.

The only toys I have from #PatricioOliver are his #Dunnys ... One day I will have MORE! #toylife
