eh! can lend me this or not ah? i return you very quick one!

there's something that needs to be said about your so-called-frens who borrow stuff from you ... and the responsibility that comes with that loan ~ whatevah that item may be ...

there are 3 basic types of "loaners":

01. the ones who returns said items in good time and good order. (NO problem here!)
02. the ones who returns said items eons later, but in reasonable condition. (fcuked lor)
03. the ones who forget conveniently and when returned? = items comes back in shambles. (burn~fcukah~burn)

which one are you?

oh how i despise utterly hate have no respect for the last catergory ... i have had my fav comicbook 6-issue-mini-series (Arthur Adam's Longshot; way back when in secondary school) returned to me rolled, torn and tattered (also scarred me for life it did!) ... and i didnt even get a "sorry". i've had DVDs returned with scratches beyond redemption (Pulp Fiction! Hapy Together!) and cannot be played but for the tears that wells up in my eyes and the anger that burns redhot-within my being ... not to mention Music CDs that either comes back without a CD-cover, or a CD ... and of coz with the pre-requisite-scratches lah ... nahbey ... and at least these are stuff that have been returned!

and have you ever heard?:
- "you should have reminded me earlier what?"
- "not my fault the item not strong enough/not scratch-proof, what?"
- "aiyah, i buy you another one lor, no big deal what!"

nah.bey.

"never again!" ~ i told myself. (but of coz thru the years i've still never learnt lah. nahbey)

stuff still missing from me shelves/collection:
a. American History X DVD
b. Music Videos Compilations/Collection DVDs
c. A pink DVD that came with an entire Design Book
d. City Of Lost Children DVD (WTFFFFFFF?)
e. Zoolander DVD (heh)
f. fuckload of CDs im sure!
g. stack'a beloved comicbooks (which i hope am still being taken care of and good)

... and those are the stuff i remember ... and inevitably some stuff gets lost amidst thy fading memory somehow ... nahbey ... and let's not forget about the items that your frens had lent to other frens instead??!! nahbey!

im a walking library, izzit? (altho i have you know i was school-librarian for three years in VITB a decade+ ago *proud-geek-beams*) or maybe i should consider implementing a "borrowing-items-procedure", whereby a CASH deposit is left behind ("full-price" of item, no less) for every item borrowed (closer frens get a better discount, of coz) and $$$ will be reimbured only after item is returned.

the tricky bit about this scheme being: if the one who's borrowing; is a girlfren (or bf ... but if itz a wife/husband? got nothing to say now is totally irrelevant at this junture, for everything's yours is hers and visa versa anyways ... but of coz more so HERS lah :p) - then how? ... no penalty lor, unless you'd want a penalty yourself? ... another tricky thing being: if you've broken up with your partner, before item is returned = then how? ... forget said items totally?

heh.

"share to show you care" = my ass!

... tho peeps might say: "these are only material things! why let them get in the way of friendship? ... why so stingy?"

IMHO: friendship = mutual respect for each other and what's theirs.

and it ain't just about "being stingy", becoz you'd never know the story of the item or how important (if that be the case) the item is to the "owner", would you? (unless you ask and/or if he/she tells you - then you sin more if you fcukover the item lah! nahbey) ... and so if ya fuck with me stuff, i should still respect you? even if you dun; me? hey, i dun haveta hate you nor cut-off-ties ... but that doesn't mean i can't be angry with you, innit? muthafcukahz ... and that is why i do not lend stuff to people. you gotta choose them peeps well, tho sometimes (most times really) everybody makes the same mistakes (including yourselves, dun bluff) ... then how?

heh
