a yuletide bat in singapore
the Batman comes to singapore. 'nuff said.
oh man, when i first saw this on the banners outside of Raffles City Shopping Centre last night, i couldn't believe my poor fanboy-eyes! and tracked it down i did this morning and am sharingthis horror this stale nugget with y'all here:
[ log unto the website to see it in it's entirety ]
now, i know tis all but an attempt to drum-up publicity using the recent Batman Begins movie, and to get folks into the malls and such, but this? tis utilizing the comicsbook/superhero genre to the bonemarrowsucking hilt, innit? ya haveta see the full-page-ad running in local newspapers today (will try to scan or take a pix laterz :p), to fully appreciate the copy/text and the nudge, NAY; THE KICK-IN-THE-BALLS to thy comicbook reader! *ahahahahaha* but of coz this entire promo ain't aiming at them/us, innit? *oh, but for the power of the kiddie demographic*
but this really got to me:
as it says here:
"The Making Of A Hero Presentation
What does it take to become Batman? Let Ras Al Ghul and the Justice of Shadows ninjas show you how to execute some mind-blowing moves as seen in Batman Begins. Who knows? Maybe you’vee got what it takes to be the new Batman! After some one-on-one training with the martial arts guru of course!"
dun they know that Ras and the LEAGUE of Shadows are villains? (as portrayed in the comics and movies) *bad-men*? and that they create chaos and anarchy? *aiyoh* ~ or maybe that's why "they" re-named it "Justice" instead of "League"? ... hey, never let it be said "we singaporeans" aren't "creative" enough, innit?*PUKE* much less able to wrangle some moolah out of anything that's the flavour of last month, innit? *heh* :p
i dunno about y'all, but the "insult" i first felt when i saw this, has since developed into "a full-on-laugh-out-loud-fest" ... and what can we expect next?
*heh* :p
(Disclaimer: i am NOT in any way connected to Raffles City and this entry is of my own personal opinion and should matter not to people who are gonna go spend their money there anyways. dun sue me lardass pls. i have no money.)
