genpets
:: WTH ::
i got this theory, see ... remember alla them Area-51 aliens folks have been going-on about all these years? well, i think they actually did exist and somehow they too were experimented on (i suspect tis a two-way "trade agreement": *you take some clueless humans, we take soma your alien buddies* yaddayadda) and what do you do with them after you've experimented with them? chuck them away? nnnnoooooooo ~ that would be too much of a waste ... what you do is to repackage them and sell them off as "pets". make back some money to contra the costs of experimentation, innit?
of coz the above para is purely fiction, and has absolutely nothing to do with GenPets, do they? [via]
"The Genpets™ are Pre-Packaged, Bioengineered pets ... Genpets are not toys or robots. They are living, breathing genetic animals ... We use a process called "Zygote Micro Injection" which is quickly becoming a favourable method to combine DNA, or to insert certain proteins from different species ... We’ve gone one step further by packaging the Genpets™ into plastic packages unlike any other. Each Genpet™ package has a fully functional heart rate monitor and Fresh Strip to better gauge the state of each pet while it lies in its hibernation state."
they come in 2 core configuration / base models with a lifespan of 1-Year and 3-Years respectively = but dammit, what happens when the expiry date runs out? then again, what happens when they open their eyes?
*heh*
