scarygirl city folk series and get awesome guide
"Searching through the urban dreamscape to find her parents, Scarygirl has come to the big city where she meets as confounding a cast of characters as can be." [via]
Australian artist and illustrator Nathan Jurevicius expands the Scarygirl universe with the release of 15 mini vinyl-figures in the City Folks Series
*more after the jump*
debuting with much appreciated varied characteristic shapes, forms and colors (in the mini-figures genre), City Folks seem a breath of fresh vinyl-air in the KR toy-stable (IMHO)
Jellycat, The Doctor, Glass Blower, Beggar, City Boss, Air Freshener, School Girl, City Maid, Blind Tea Lady, Egg Keeper, Crossing Guard and The Poet are between 7.5-10cm / 3-4" tall (inc. acc.) and each City Folk figure comes with a different colored Protester (small, spikey, helmet shaped single-colored figures). "these little cloaked characters protest everything from the high prices of Jellycat meat to the mistreatment of giant sloths"
to coincide with the launch of City Folks @ Magic Pony on 15th March, Kidrobot introduces an online The Get Awesome Guide:
... where Nathan's City Folks "offers a guide to the hippest spots to eat, drink, sleep, shop, and see, in LA, NY, SF, and Toronto" ...
... the beauty of which is the biography page of each City Folk here :)
*coolness*
