TOYSREVIL: what inspired the design for the ladies?
ROSA: They all started as doodles on my notepad. I did one, liked it and try another one with different face and hair. And suddenly they were a universe of ladies! I always wanted to make toys but never thought i will. I collect toys since the beginning of times. One day, looking at my drawings i thought, what if i could have my own series of toys...? And thats how the dream started...
TRE: any particular reason for the name choices?
ROSA: No, no reason. It was just their faces. Every character i create has a name, the same as every photo i take (i do "doll photography"). This way they became more real, more personal.
TRE: what are the girl's "stories"?
ROSA: I wanted to have, for this series, 4 different women, with 4 different personalities, inspired by the music. Pepita is the flamenco, Miranda is the tango, Fanny the rumba and Beatrice is la chanson francaise.
TRE: so what's next for Insolent Candyfloss?
ROSA: series 02 - The Ninjas.
TOYSREVIL: ... that sounds intriguingly cool! thanks again for your time, Rosa and best wishes for your toy-journey! :)
