thanks to VinylPulse, i now know the unpainted-proto of this tubby "fortune cat" with uber-tall getas* (japanese-sandals*) i saw (and saved :p) on Pixie's excellent SDCC-coverage = is Zakka's MIAO, the 7"-er tall Lucky Cat ("Maneki Neko")
and the first artist to put his signature touch to MIAO is Tokidoki's Simone Legno (art shown below) - limited to 500pcs for an early-2008-drop; each figure will come with an additional (mystery) "secret toy" (i'd give it a "bell" to keep the kitty happy and continue "beckoning" LOL).
