a megagwin show custom update
October Toy's MEGAGWIIN custom-show [blogged] is just around the corner on Oct 13th (lasting til Nov 7th) @ Alpha Cult - and with the customs that have been surfacing online recently, it sure looks like one heck of a show to come, IMHO - and a quick visual update on customs thus far (more to come) as well as a quickie-Q&A with the October Toys-crew (ie: George & Ayleen Gaspar and Matt-neck-punch-Alyward)
TOYSREVIL: how did the MegaGwinShow come about?
MATT: No reason.
GEORGE: Cause we wanted to have an art show.
(TRE: toldya tis gonna be a quickie LOL) = /// CLICK HERE FOR MORE
[Doktor A]
TRE: is this October Toy's first group custom show? how do you guys feel about that?
MATT: Yes and it makes me horny.
GEORGE: Yes and good.
AYLEEN: Yeah it's our first art show and I can't wait for cupcakes!
[Kathie Olivas / Brandt Peters]
TRE: nerve-wrecking or thoroughly exciting?
MATT: Thoroughly nerve-wrecking.
[Okkle's Pangwin via Kidrobot]
TRE: i've been seeing a smattering of custom-Gwins surface online, and they look awesome thus far - what can we expect from the show?
MATT: Really big Gwins
GEORGE: 50+ talented artists from around the world coming together for a month of Gwin fun!
[Erin Martinez]
TRE: is the display arena gonna be dressed-up to look like the north pole? (im still resisting watching Happy Feets...)
GEORGE: No, just some Halloween touches. We are October Toys, afterall.
[Bil Betsovic's Sugar High Gwin via Rotofugi]
TRE: when was the Gwin-design ever conceived? who designed it? and why Gwins?
AYLEEN: The Gwin is modeled after Tux, the Linux mascot, which was designed by Larry Ewing and the GIMP. George made me a 3-D version as a present several years ago and that later became the Gwin!
[Joey Potts' MegaGwin via Rotofugi]
TRE: do tell us what folks can expect for the MegaGwinShow!
ALL: Goodie bags for the first 50 people, cupcakes, booze, and free neck punches!
