about patrick chow's xmas ballmer
has created a new christmas-themed character dubbed X'Mas Ballmer:
i had a chat with Patrick about the origins of the figure:
TOYSREVIL: what is the character supposed to prepresent? does it have a story?
PATRICK CHOW: The single leg signifies loneliness and is representative of the many single, lonely people in this world, especially during the Christmas holidays. I believe that these people hope to be like others, to be able to share in the festive season with friends and family. The golden yet icy eyes symbolize these cold lonely people looking at others reveling joyfully in Christmas parties. The golden eyes reflect the golden glittering light of the parties.
I haven't decided whether I should give him a story. /// CLICK HERE FOR MORE
TOYSREVIL: luving the golden-eyes-detail, IMHO - how big is he? and how long did you take to do the figure?
PATRICK CHOW: He is around 13 inch X 5 inch. I took around 2-3 weeks to finish him.
TOYSREVIL: are all the parts scratch-built?
PATRICK CHOW: Yes, all the parts (everything‚ included all the balls) are scratch-built in clay!
TOYSREVIL: you are awesome, Patrick! is he a production piece, or a one-of-a-kind made for display?
PATRICK CHOW: He is only just one hand-made art piece at this moment. (The main purpose for making him was that i had want to take some photos for the X'mas card for all of my friends.)
TOYSREVIL: that's very cool of you, Patrick - hope you had a great christmas and here's wishing you a fabulous New Year!
(FYI: the name was inspired by "Hans Bellmer" - best known for the
life-sized pubescent female dolls he produced in the mid-1930s)
