speed racer movie stills
hot off the reveal of Racer-X (aka Matthew Fox), USAToday.com features movie-stills that'll take your breath away (well, at least mine darnnit LOL) producer Joel Silver has this to say: "The effects are beyond belief. We called it 'car fu,' because it was like kung fu with the cars ... We couldn't have made this movie until right now."

I feel a bit conflicted about this one. I really wanted to see how they would pull this off and I like the approach with the anime look and broad colors but the actor playing Racer X (Matthew Fox) looks way too short for the "presence" of the character. Ricci looks delicious as Trixie and the family looks great (a real Chim-Chim!) Speed doesn't look too cool though. I have to see the trailer but Emile Hirsch looks a bit too old for the part. I always envisioned Speed to be 18-20 yrs old while looking like a teenager. He looks horrible in that helmet Ugh! Am I being too harsh?
