“Under the Influence: A Tribute to Stan Lee” is probably one of the biggest art shows at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles. The gallery was abuzz with excitement as we surveyed the gallery. The gallery had a glow of grandeur and you could just tell this was going to be big, even before the doors opened for everyone at 7 pm. The line out front was growing and so was the anticipation. When would we see Stan Lee?"

i personally do not collect "art" (per se). not for the lack of appreciation, no. i "used" to be a naysayer that couldn't appreciate them "enough" ... and after a 3-year stint involved in and directing a weekly magazine-style television series based on the arts (in my past life), i've still mixed feelings about them, and most times (and i cannot speak for everyone) my appreciation of them depends on the feelings and emotions that i gather from looking at them. but i've always said, if ever i were to purchase any art work? it would have to be original cover art or panel art from comicbooks. becoz i is a comicbook-geek. born and bred. and is a great medium fix for me, straddling both realms of fantasy and (my former) dayjob ... and i look at the images of Under The Influence: A Tribute to Stan Lee and i smile a bittersweet-smile (but in a good way LOL)
