touma's little trickers mini vinyl series one by play imaginative
peep this teaser-ad for TOUMA's most famous characters such as Knuckle Bear, Skuttle, Hellhounds, Goon, Grabbit, Snout, Talons and many more - standing between 2.5" - 3" sizes - in a complete mini series, unleashed by Play Imaginative, including mystery figures & crossovers!

the series will comprise of Touma's "existing" characters, with each character featuring a few styles/poses/expression - and if you don't find your fav Touma-critters in Series One? there's Series 2 to look out for! (inclusive in Series One will be a checklist inclusive of what to expect for Series 2 = cool)
a total of 16 articulated-figures per complete set in Series One, inclusive of 4 chase figures - 2 of which will be designed by 2 invited artists (my personal guesstimation is Devilrobots and Furi Furi, but of coz im speculating :p) ... Series 1 drops June 2008, with a small quantity will be available for sale @ PI booth during STCC, Taipei ToyFair and an upcoming PI Exhibition @ LA. the SRP is as-yet-confirmed, with the word that it will "definitely" be below US$10-per
i'd asked Jacky (from PI) if this was Play Imaginative's first ever blind-box series, for which he mentions that PI is also releasing another blind-box series of Tofus with Devilrobots (*gasp*) ~ *stay tuned for further developments & product reveals*

I can't believe I have to wait until JUNE for these!!!
ReplyDeleteI hate teasers!
Touma again? And then Devilrobots? When will this end? What I think collectors want to see are different designs from these artists and not rehashing their 'existing'/ best-selling designs that we like and already have and making them into mini-me sizes?!!! then expecting us to buy them? And how many permutations of TOFU can we have? These are already done to death by Medicom Toy and now another is jumping on the bandwagon.
ReplyDeleteThis is either plain lazy or they take us collectors as fools. Just my two cents worth...
Not being able to afford it, is not the point. The whole point of this hobby is the whole exclusivity of it.
ReplyDeleteI don't mean to sound selfish but would you want something you bought and thought it was exclusive and then find out it was reproduced? In another size and edition? And worse by another company? It's like buying Nike Air from converse! What's next? 20" Knucklebears? Oops... there one already... I mean 3, maybe more...
About other artists that PI should employ, well.. it's PI's job to surprise us not the collectors.
They should take a leaf out of Kidrobot's page and learn how they are always surprising us with their releases.
And yes.. Medicom has their Kubricks. That is a PLATFORM toy. But more TOFUS?!! Seriously...??
The whole point of my first post is..
SURPRISE US!!!
