seen@sdcc2008: bad robot

These days, EVERYONE wants to make a toy (which frankly, is fine by me LOL) and in some instances, in an attempt to elevate beyond the much-maligned label ("toys" = "kids"), products are dubbed "collectibles" - making them suddenly acceptable to the masses (IMHO). Hey, call it whatever you want, but a good design is subjective as everyone's tastes and opinions differ. I may find this BAD ROBOT figure quirky-cute-ish, you may find it "WTF?" ...

Google-box slaves may recognize this "red robot" character (aka icon of Bad Robot Productions) popping up [PEEP] at the end of every J.J.Abrams' show ("Alias", "Lost") ... and seen on TrekMovie.com [pic via] is said robot made into a collectible, and is being given away at the San Diego Comic Convention - Paramount Booth (get your pass scanned to enter the contest) - of which 3 would be raffled away (out of 500-pcs made / info)
