TRE-Exclusive: First Look at PANZER ACE by Robert De Castro x Atomic Mushroom Toys (Clay Sculpts)
Robert De Castro's upcoming new mecha: PANZER ACE!
Panzer Ace comes right after Robert's debut Combat-R-Zero vinyl-mecha [tagged with toy-lurve] and shown here are early production clays - fresh from the factory sculptor! Panzer Ace will have a 250 piece run and a projected 2010 production release. There will be a single colorway planned (based on illustration above-left) - although Robert mentions that they are looking into ding a completely painted finish in all-metallic colors (to look like Chogokin) - which means no exposed bare vinyl. Keeping our collective fingers crossed for this, Robert! I would indeed be fantabulous, IMHO!
Shown below is the "Plutonium" colorway CRZ beside the clay proto of the new Panzer Ace. Robert adds: "Panzer Ace is actually a bit shorter than CRZ, the clay sculpt is bigger to compensate for the shrinkage during the tooling stage."
