Custom-Dunny Reveals for Custom Toy Union Assassins Series
Ever since our first post about Custom Toy Union's ASSASSINS Blind Box Custom Dunny series, the first group of actual custom figures has been released (via the CTU e-newsletter) featuring designs from Lunartik, Lunabee and Fuller! Scheduled for a release at San Diego Comic-Con in July, at Dragatomi's booth #3848 ~ stay tuned for further reveals and product details.
CLICK THRU for a closer-look at the trio of customs, a new updated flyer-image of all custom-Dunnys in the series, along with a lil Q&A I had with CTU-member Pranay Parikh aka "Hypnotiq", about the genesis of CTU and this custom series!
TOYSREVIL: Congrats on the first series guys! Share with us how all of this started, and why the "theme" with "CTU Assassins"? And what was the blind box series about?
PRANAY PARIKH: The series basically started, similar to how our forum started. We realized that there was amazing talent out there, but they were fragmented across various forums and across the web. These artists were an untapped resource that many larger vinyl companies have yet to harness, and we were hoping to fill in that gap. Our plan was to bring artists from the vinyl scene to people that normally don't go to forums or even vinyl stores for that matter, and to bring it to them at affordable prices.
PRANAY PARIKH: This is one of our main reasons for selling them at SDCC. It should be tremendous exposure for CTU, and all the artists, especially the international ones. That being said, there is no underlying theme for the series.
We basically just gave them a blank slate, and let them do what they do best. I for one, believe that method allows for the most creativity. There were a few rules though, such as size restraints, but for the most part the artists were allowed to do whatever they wanted.
TOYSREVIL: How about availability of the series? Last mentioned it was going to be at San Diego Comic-Con ~ any specific booth? And would it be made available eventually online as well?
PRANAY PARIKH: As for availability, we will be at (the) Dragatomi booth #3848 at SDC. As for online orders, we will be selling roughly half of them online through our online store that is in the process of being set up. It should be all set to go in about 2 weeks.
