OMI Unmasked by Munky King @ San Diego Comic Con 2010
Spotted on KRonikle was this video of Patrick Lam (president of Munky King showcasing their new DIY platform toy: The OMI.
To celebrate it's launch, festivities will culminate at their annual Comic Con party on July 22nd @ Basic Urban Kitchen & Bar. Dubbed "Omi: Unmasked", the first 50 attendees will receive a complimentary gift including a DIY version of the Omi and more Munky King goodies. WHAT-IS-OMI: The DIY version of the Omi which will be released at Comic-Con offers a blank canvas with limitless customizing capabilities. Series 1 will prototypes featuring renowned artists such as Luke Chueh, Buff Monster, Yoskay Yamamoto, Craola, Kozik, Nathan Jurevicius, Dave Pressler, and Ferg. Unlike other vinyl toys, the Omi comes with a frame for collectors to display in the home as a 3D painting by itself, but can also be fitted to a larger 9-piece display frame, called the Omi Wall, or snapped together with another Omi Mask and transform into a Weeble Wobble.
