Comic-Con-Q&A With Colette Bennett of Tomopop (San Diego Comic Con 2010)
What i had enjoyed about Tomopop's coverage of the San Diego Comic Con 2010 [tagged] was the variety and genre of products reported (besides the "art toy" fare) and treading into blister-carded goodness and statues galore. I had the opportunity to do a little Q&A with Editor-in-Chief Colette Bennett, which you can CLICK THRU to read, alongside SDCC-snaps!
FYI: Colette is shown here cosplaying "Hatsune Miku" @ Otakon 2010 (How cool is that?)
TOYSREVIL: How many years since have you attended/covered SDCC?
COLLETTE BENNETT: This year was our third year of SDCC coverage. It gets easier as you memorize the floor map, but there never seems to be enough time to see everything no matter how many people we bring!

TOYSREVIL: What struck you the most about this year's SDCC, compared to previous years?
COLLETTE BENNETT: I feel like SDCC is more or less the same every year we have gone. I know what to expect. It's a well run show I always enjoy.

TOYSREVIL: What did you enjoy the most about this year's SDCC?
COLLETTE BENNETT: For me the best part of every year is meeting and spending time with the artists. Even getting a chance to chat with them for a few moments, or even better, highlight their work by posting a photo gallery or doing an interview with them, allows us to spread the word about who they are and what they do, and that's what I enjoy most -- helping to support the art form that we all love!

TOYSREVIL: What did you "enjoy" the least about this year's SDCC?
COLLETTE BENNETT: Crowds are always hard there. It seems Friday has become the day to go, sometimes being even more crowded than Saturday. I wish I could get shoved and stepped on less, but that's kind of the price for going to a con of that size!

TOYSREVIL: What is your ultimate personal fav seen at this year's SDCC? What product / toy struck you / caught your attention the most?
COLLETTE BENNETT: I absolutely adored the Omi display at Munky King's booth. I love the concept and it was just totally eye catching and memorable. I also loved the Rocket World booth -- could not resist buying goodies there!

TOYSREVIL: Besides toys, what else do you look out for at SDCC?
COLLETTE BENNETT: I feel like I never have time to see anything else other than toys when we are there! But I did have fun taking photos of cosplayers...it is always fun to see how people dress up.
[Tomopop's haul from SDCC, and yes, of course I wish they were mine too :p]
