Who is...Tuttz Book from Blurb by Eric Nocella Diaz
Created by Eric Nocella Diaz, the Tuttz cat has been released in variety colorways and as exclusives to a handful of folks (including yours truly), and can now be seen on the printed page, courtesy of Blurb! Currently available to order online here in a trio of editions: Softcover (US$17.95), Hardcover with Dust Jacket (US $30.95) and Hardcover with ImageWrap (US $32.95). And of course I HAD to get the lowdown on how the book came about from Eric himself!

TOYSREVIL: From a 3-D designer resin figurine to a coffee table book - Congratulations, Eric! How did the book come about?
END: I've been wanting to do a photo album book with some of my collected sculptural works for a while now but most of my earlier works are for licensed properties. My newer resin works from Argonaut Resins like the Tuttz cat figure was perfect as a jumping off point for this endeavor since I designed it from scratch and own all the rights to it. There are new people getting into the Tuttz figure all the time but the pieces sell so fast and there are so many colorways I figured why not gather most of them up in one place for even more people to see? This first book is a test to gauge if collectors would be into something of this nature and it allows me to stretch my wings and show my work in other formats besides the resin collectibles and Tshirts.
TOYSREVIL: Please share with us your thoughts and feelings about having your creations made into a book?
END: Well I'm not getting any younger, LOL, and no one is knocking down my door with any book offers so why not? It feels good doing something like this - I won't be here forever but maybe my book will and maybe it will inspire someone somewhere to do art. And, yes I have an idea for a second book already. I ordered some copies of this first Tuttz book for myself so I may have to get back to you on that question in more detail after I actually see it in person. Hopefully I'll have a few for the big New York Comic Con in early October this year. The cool thing about using Blurb is you design the book the way you want with their free downloadable software and can order one or dozens of copies. If you publish with them - the only thing they own is the books layout template.
TOYSREVIL: Thanks for the headsup about Blurb, Eric! In closing, do describe to us what you have in the book, why they are there, and why you think folks should get them!
END: There are a bunch of different images of the colorways (clear tints, colorful jades and solids) from almost all of the Tuttz designer resin cat collectibles released this year. The Tuttz figures leave out the shop so fast I haven't seen certain colorways all together myself and since the runs and edition sizes are small some collectors may not get to see them all. I wanted to put more images in the book but didn't want it to get too big since it's supposed to be a coffee table book. This book is also for cat lovers who don't collect resin but may like seeing the feline form done as an art figure. Plus once all the Tuttz releases have run their course I can still sell the book since it's not limited. You can see almost half the book's images in the preview here on the Blurb site.
