One of the dedicated exhibits currently running at Taipei Toy Festival (www) is "The Fantasy Zone of OMQ" [previously blogged] featuring cartoon-illustrations galore and interpretations of the venerable "Old Master Q" by a variety of Asian-artists. In an area hosted beside the main TTF-event hall, seems there is not so much press about this space, which is unfortunate, as it celebrates one of the mainstay Asian-creations in comic-form, who had done it's best to appeal to folks in Asia with their short sequential jokes thru the years.
One of their classic stories was when they adapted "The Water Margin" (水浒传) and how it brought the Chinese-lore closer to understanding for the younger folks then (folks who read it will know what I mean). Meanwhile, I'll not gloss on too much and let you folks see the images for yourselves.

Above are the items on display at their island pedestals (featuring work from Ultraman Fong, Husky Kelvin, Shin Tanaka etc) while directly below is the exhibition space. And below that is of Joseph Wong (eldest son of the character;s creator Alfonso Wong) performing "live" drawing of the characters, all sprawled out on the floor! How awesome is that?

And I would have actually bought a copy for a keepsake and a slice of memorabilia to keep, IMHO. Oh well, lucky enough to be able to gawk at online images tho lol
