Toys @ Taipei Toy Festival (Part Two)
There is a third figure release to add to the previous two from STAY REAL featuring their homage to Ronald McDonald, with the figure being a man-display mascot for their booth as well. Named "French Fries Bunny", "Burglar Mouse" and "Fried Chicken Mouse" - these PVC-figurines suddenly look desirable to me (or maybe tis because I miss fast-food hahaha seriously tho). Nice.
Captain Butter's "Cap'n Rock" and "Burger-Rocker" [blogged] on display and highly desirable to me - as well there is a debut of a new gnarlier-sculpt (below). Need to find a way to score them somehow tho…
The above two looks absolutely stunning, and no doubt from an anime or manga / manhua - but have no idea from whom - need help identifying these, folks!
Now that's hella lotto Spongebobs tho! And hell, that's a hella lotto Smurfs seen below too! Looks like cartoon-related characters - regardless of eras - is a huge thing in Asia, with most of them being with us when we grew up - the concept of cartoon-characters is perhaps more ingrained with folks (whom might not even give a hoot about "designer art toys") in the first place of interest and recognition. What plagues a lot of art toy is the lack of recognition, in lieu parlayed into it's aesthetics value, or "brand name", IMHO. Great looking articulated Smurfs tho!
To-Fu Oyako from DEVILROBOTS manifest unto a USB Flash drive. Looks to be a trend with folks doubling up the "functionality" of their characters - into something more than "play" and into practical day usage = In times of empty-wallets and tight bank-accounts, tis hard to plonk down cash for [pieces of colorful plastic - ah but a "functional-item"? Means double the reason to buy one hahahaha
5th Anniversary Mollys by Kenny Wong x How2Work. I've always liked to see the products with their packaging tho.
