Event Images of CE : Platform Toy Festival @ Siam Center
We've previously posted about the CE : Platfrom Toy Festival event at Siam Center, and now we have snaps galore, as well a little further info about the happenings a the event! A slice of art toy culture was introduced to Thailand this year, featuring the concept of "platform toys" and showcasing the potential of pop-culture-art via customization, in a land of tradition and heritage-art, is indeed a wondrous notion to behold, IMHO.
The primary exhibition saw 20 buddy CEs designed by various designers, while 10 "Big Boys" CE (from 2010 contest Finalists) stand "guard" throughout the complex. As well there was a live custom show for CE and Dweey (from Malaysia) where about 30-40 designers joined from between 13-14th August. BTW, all CE and Dweey from this show will exhibited in Malaysia International Toy Fair on September 8-10.

The third aspect of the event saw a CE design workshop where fans are allowed to design the CE themselves, as manage by Mafia Factory Crew. Shown below is a CEformer Bumble-Bee-themed CE from Tabun Studio Designer Six = Awesome!
The event is co-operation between CE Planet and Siam Center which represent one of their 4 DNA. In addition to the CEs, 40 backpacks CEs from Fashion Brands and Celebrities were designed, and the Buddy CEs were released for sale the very first time in Thailand! Hopefully we'll have more availability info for folks to score one if interested. Today Sunday August 14th is the last day of the exhibition, so do headup to Siam Center if you're there in Thailand!
