Highlights for Malaysia International Toys Fair 2011
The Malaysia International Toys Fair happens this Friday September 9th and exhibits thru September 11th Sunday at Midvalley Exhibition Hall. And while we do not have the opportunity to speak to the organizer of the event, here are a few highlights you should be looking out for instead:
KISStoast Toasterboys by Mongar Toys - we previously featured them HERE. Indonesia artist Erwin Cahyono will also be present, so remember to bug him for making resin-toy tips (He made our MechaZombie Toasterboys too!).
MAFIA Factory from Thailand will be debuting and making available a trio of production CEs, along with a GID Exclusive-MITF CE as well, so this will be a real treat! [Previously blogged about HERE]. Designers Kenji Chai, MAMAFAKA and Tabun Studio from Thailand will be present for an on-stage custom demo.
Along with the presence of their CE toys, they have also partnered up with Fusionwave's Dweey the shortneck-giraffe for a series of customs - in total over 100 pairs! - for a group custom show at the event [blogged]. Shown above are the customs from Thailand-based artists.
Dweey and Liselle will debut their custom-CEs and launch the finale show for Fashion x Music Model Search - climaxing at the 230pm show on September 10th [blogged].
UrbanCr3atures will debut their brand new Urban-Cr3atures paper toy - so make sure you grab one - free or otherwise!
Am really intrigued about SKANG created by Kenji Chai - in an unorthodox promotional path thus far (I'm not in on the joke, so harder to grasp at it) leading up to the current SKANG FART CONTEST whereby the top winner will score a SKANG resin toy! Check and follow the Facebook for details, and view+vote for the entrants here. The winners will be announced at MITF.
The guys from Taken Shop will be holding a "Android Mini Collectibles Fair" featuring Android Collectibles, signed stickers from Andrew Bell and Exclusive Android Logo Environment Friendly Non-Woven Bags. (Taken Shop provided TOYSREVIL with Androids Series 2 for review not too long ago).
One aspect of the event is a series of "Toy Talks" with folks of different toy genres (which I think is pretty cool to be had). All events to happen at Function Room B, Level 3, Mid Valley Exhibition Centre. Here are a select few considerations:
