New York Comic Con 2011
NYCC or New York Comic Con 2011 happens October 13-16th, 2011. Organized by ReedPOP! (Same folks who helms STGCC in Singapore) the 4-day extravaganza happens at Javitz Center n New York, USA. Heralded as a distinct competitor to San Diego Comic Con, the event has gained strength by strength each year, and has personally become a key venue to visit for me one day.
One of the key aspects of NYCC, is the focus also on the Urban Art scene, primarily the "art toy"-scene - as encompassed by The Cultyard (which STGCC desperately needs, IMHO). The announced Guest List is an indication of their relevancy - with names such as: Andrew Bell, Aaron "AngryWoebots" Martin, David Horvath, Erick Scarecrow, J*RYU, Jared Deal, KaNO, Lamour Supreme, Marka27, Ron English, Skinner and Tara McPherson amongst others (peep them all here / Full Guest List).
