Events & Highlights for International Cosplay Day Singapore (ICDS) August 26
Launching today August 26th at Ngee Ann Polytechnic is International Cosplay Day Singapore (ICDS), and here are a few highlights for the event, including a cosplay
panel by U.S. based cosplay celebrities Ms. Yaya Han and Ms. Jerry Polence, a Cosplay Catwalk, a Cosplay Competition featuring entries from both Eastern & Western genres, as well as Singapore’s 2nd Annual Cosplay Chess stage show (cast posted below).
Photography enthusiasts can also look forward to a Cosplay Photography Contest. Visitors will also be treated to a post-event party featuring local ani-song singer Melanie Joanne, anisong chorus group ‘Guts, Courage, Joy’ and a full hour of non-stop anime and game music remixes by DJ Rainyrhy.
Fans of Ms. Yaya Han can also purchase a convention exclusive print (shown below-left), produced in collaboration with local illustrator Shawn Yap (13 Wishes) at her booth. She will also be selling limited edition Yaya Han calendars and creations, as well as holding signings at the event.
Internationally acclaimed cosplay photographer Mr. Jay Tablante will also be exhibiting his latest works at ICDS, as well as his photo book Geekology 101, featuring cosplayers he has photographed around the world. Don't forget the charity-prints from Alodia we previous posted about HERE!

Tickets are priced at $5 (with an additional $1 booking fee), and all profits from ticket sales will go towards an educational bursary for students from the School of Film & Media Studies at Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
