Toy2R USA Division Closing August 2012
Sadly, Toy2R USA will cease operations in August 2012, and with that comes a slew of toys currently available for online auctions here. So now, where will our info come from? I remember a time in toy-bloggery where there were near-none newsletters or emailers for Toy2R-products, and had to search for information on their products. Tis disheartening to find the current circumstance happening. And while I do not know the exact ins-and-outs of this situation, I feel that it is a disappointment if the value of promotions / marketing is in question here. How do you "count" (brand) awareness? Nevertheless, this is an end of yet another toy era, as far as I am concerned, and it remains to be seen how Toy2R will follow up on toy-news. Looking forward to further developments!
This is the unbridged message from TOY2R USA CEO, Kevin Winnik (along qith the images here culled from the auction pages):
"Thank you for your support from the past few years. While the Qeevolution continues, it is with deep regret that Toy2R USA will not continue its voyage with the Hong Kong company and will be ending operations in August 2012. The decision for closure has been a logistical and unavoidable reasons. Toy2R USA will be will no longer provide further support (sales, marketing, etc) for the Hong Kong office.
Toy2R (Hong Kong) Limited will continue to provide services to all its clients while evolving the Qee brand and launching several new and exciting projects direct from its base of operations in Hong Kong.
Several amazing artist projects are planned for release in 2012/2013 as well as other new licensing programs taking Toy2R to the next stage in its ever growing profile of designer art toy collaborations.
