Top 10 Christmas Presents You Should Have Gotten This Year
It's Christmas Eve here in Singapore, and frankly if you are still angling to score some last minute purchases, you would be better off getting fancy chocolates or household decoration and possibly even pre-wrapped bath scents. But if you happen to be half-way around the world in a different timezone, you could still consider these (if you could find them in your local toy stores, or consider a post-Christmas gifting via online sales ;p):
#10 - HAPPY MERRY CHRISTM@S 2012: From Medicom Toy comes this 7cm tall 100% BE@RBRICK dressed up to look like S@NT@ CL@US. And there is as well a (much cooler-looking) XM@S TREE Version - both in blister card packaging, and both looking swell as gifts! Suggested Retail Price is ¥1,575 (US$18+).
Medicom always has Xmas-themed offerings made available every year, so they'll make timely gifts year after year, IMHO. And they look pretty handsome and well packaged, in a "commercial" mass market sense, which is not half bad. And c'mon, who doesn't like BE@RBRICKS? :)
#9 - YODA AS SANTA CLAUS: Chill, the carded "Yoda in Santa Claus Disguise" doesn't exist. Would be cool if it did tho … heck, put some 'effort' into your gift-giving! Print out the card (via), get his THAT Lego Star Wars Santa Yoda Minifigure, and make it into a blister carded figure, ready for gifting! Or just find this Holiday Yoda instead ~ ho-Ho-HO!
#8 - 'BOTS MINI KIDHOHOHO: An extremely apt festive gift from Kidrobot, that does not need you to crack your brains wondering "what christmasy-toy-to-buy?", as this is pretty much in your face! MUAHAHAHAHA
Priced at US$11.95, this figurine comes with a non-removable vinyl key (for that faux tin-toy retro-cliche-vibe) and as well 1-in-10 pulls are chase "black" versions (which I would love to have tho). No Christmas-themed Dunnys from KR this year, so this'll have to do, folks!
#7 - FRANKIE FROST & TOY SOLDIER ANDROIDS: Designed by Scott Tolleson and proceed by DYZ Plastic, "Frankie Frost" not your particular Santa-red design, but of "Jack Frost" the winter elemental, splendid for the holiday seasons, I guess.
With a SRP of US$10 per, it could pretty well stretch the imaginations, methinks! And it would look perfect next to a Snowman Android (shown above-left) from Gary Ham!
Hey, we experience winter here in Asia, so could appreciate the allure if not identify with the notion LOL
#6 - POP! VINYL CHRISTMAS: Funko rolls out a series of Christmas themed POP! Vinyls (See more here), with Santa and the adorable red-nosed Rudolph being the prime picks, IMHO.
#5 - 1/6 SANTERINA: From Dollsfigure comes this 1/6th suit set (no, it does not come with the figure tho), and yeh, this would have been particularly "nice", well, for me anyways … *cough* … What? You'd rather get the 1/6 MASK Santa from Asmus Toys instead? Seriously?
#4 XMAS PRESENT YOU SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN - The very last Spectral Beasticorn Ugly Unicorn is currently available for sales here for US$45, with a santa-hat sewn for a sofubi figurine. Yes, a very thin concept for a Christmas-theme, but it gives you a chance to score that vinyl figure, and gift yourself with it!
#3 - HOLIDAY KAIJU NEGORA: From Max Toy Co comes this sweetly colored and flocked 3.5 inches tall vinyl, festively wearing a felt-wrap with christmasy-accents. US$50 would have gotten you this Mini Kaiju-kuteness, but alas it has but sold out! I would have loved YOU for the gift too, yo-ho-ho!
#2 XMAS PRESENT YOU SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN: - While Santa Cavey and Reindeer Coney was released in 2011, this year's release was a Christmas Pudding Cavey, who unfortunately has since been listed as "sold out" tho … cross your fingers you'll be getting a nice box of squishiness this Christmas, folks!
Plush toys are always a good fall-back, and a non-threatening choice. And an awesomely cute plush goes a longer way than you might imagine, IMHO. Yu decide :)
#1 XMAS PRESENT YOU SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN: - "Jack in Santa" from Avatar666 features a customized 3" Dunny with character design of Jack Skellington from 'Nightmare Before Christmas'. Nothing like a one-of-a-kind present, yeh?
Have a Toy-Ful and Merriest of Christmas, folks!
