Cheap Toys & Trading Cards: Melty Misfits by Buff Monster
PRESS: "…in my continuing homage to the beloved Garbage Pail Kids, I have made new Melty Misfits Cheap Toys. In 1986 Topps released a set of 10 “Cheap Toys.” Each of the 10 characters was released in 4 common colors, and packaged in a green plastic bag. I took one of the figures, Double Heather, and had it totally re-sculpted from scratch (by Mitch Martinez), at the size of the originals (about 1 3/8"), adding in new ice cream heads. Healeymade has cast them in resin, in all 4 original colors."
And something close to my heart: "Trading Cards"! Last seen releases at their "Number of the Beast" show at Cotton Candy machine, they will now be offered online! Each pack has a complete set of 8 cards (#1-#8) but 1 out of 5 packs comes with the rare 9th bonus card. US$5 each (+S/H).
PRESS: "…the brand-new sub-series of my Melty Misfits cards, called the Metal Misfits. I teamed up with L’Amour Supreme to make a series of new paintings the same size and medium as the original Melty Misfits and Garbage Pail Kids paintings. The cards are printed on the same custom-made sticker stock as the original Melty Misfits."
