"Pacific Rim" Trailer #4 & Poster Images
Frankly, I am sick and tired of commentary by various individuals, that the Jaegers do not look like "EVAs" (from the Japanese anime "Neon Genesis Evangelion"), or any other giant robots from the classic shows from many an individuals' past viewing since childhood. And I truly feel these are some of the people who fuel the notion that "Grown Ups 2" have garnered more audience interest rather than #PacificRim.
I say unto you folks this: Go buy the DVD or Blu-Ray box sets of the tv shows of your favorite past, or anime. PACIFIC RIM might be inspired by kaiju shows of yore, but it is NOT a remake of your favourite(s), which you are expecting to be what you loved since young. The reality is that "geekdom" is but a small sliver in the vast Culture of Humanity of Masses, and when fellow geekboys and geekgirls do not get behind "new" properties like this, one can only expect studios to reboot / re-envigorate / re-imagine the same old properties over and over again, because they already have the audience, and inevitably their money.
