TOYSREVIL's Top Ten Toys To Look Forward To In 2014
And while it's still early times - and no doubt a myriad of toys as yet teased nor mentioned in the www (or perhaps there are, and I utterly missed news of them d'oh!) - here are some toys and collectibles I have seen on my www-journeys and felt tis worth looking forward to in 2014, IF they indeed get released then!
10. New Product from New Artist to be repped by Mighty Jaxx (top-left), featuring an intense sculpt skull (MJ's into skulls now, it seems).
AVAILABILITY: TBC
9. Unnamed Sofubi from Chauskoskis looks enticing (top-right), even tho it's just the body sculpt seen thus far… and it's high time we got an OG-design and sculpt from the guy who has done splendid sculpts for other designers!
AVAILABILITY: TBC
8. Prince from Angry Woebots x Silent Stage (bottom-left) is an interesting concept, as it is a "prequel" to the "Panda King" sculpt, and a representation of "indie resin collectible" = Nice.
AVAILABILITY: TBC
7. "Kookie No Good" from Scott Tolleson (top-left) - and while neither is the name accurate, nor is the final vinyl piece in blue color (this is a "test pull"), (oossibly) featuring a sculpt by Tim Wollweber (who also did his "Bitta Critta") … I have always adored the designs of Scott, and looks to be a keeper!
AVAILABILITY: TBC
6. ETERNAL CLOUD SFB from RESTORE of Japan. Looks intensely awesome, and it is a genre I am utterly unfamiliar with, and am fearful of stepping into, frankly speaking, as I fear bring dragged further in and unable to "escape"! LOL
AVAILABILITY: from January 2014 - priced at 12,600YEN
5. From Frank Kozik x Bigshot Toyworks comes two figures of extreme interest for me: COLONEL COCK and "The Flintstones" Barney Rubble re-envisioned to be a rock-n-roller prehistoric gangster? And while there are no exact news of they will actually be slated for a 2014-release, I love the look of them regardless LOL!
AVAILABILITY: TBC
4. Look, I am a fan of Max Toy Co - let there be no doubt - and any product releases from them are viewed with interest and desire! And while this "technically" has already been released in Japan, it has still yet to hit Stateside, innit? I need to build me a fleet of KAIJU TANKS!!!!!
AVAILABILITY: TBC
3. If he is as amiable as Martin Hsu's comicbook rendition of him (based on Martin's fantasies of meeting Miya), and with Martin's success with Dragon Boy, this looks to be a swell addition to the culture, including that of both film/animation and art toy!
The 6" tall MIYA-SAN "Mentor figure" (based on/insoired by "Hayao Miyazaki" of Studio Ghilbi) is produced by Bigshot Toyworks.
AVAILABILITY: Exclusively via www.MartinHsu.com come January 2014!
2. Original collectible from ANTZ - made in collaboration with Mingus Tan @minguslogy - of CCTV Angels teased on his Instagram @antz_rscls thus far … Am alway down with ANTZ's art and am excited when a toy comes from him … not to mention his WUKONG collectible with MyTummyToys, which I hope to see somewhen in 2014? No pressure, folks, no pressure at all … heh.

1. MACHINE56 X FOXBOX STUDIO = and while the above might not necessarily be the concept being used - it might even be a brand new character other than his "Bone Head" - check it out as a visual reference of Machine56's character design, and imagine it as a 1/6th-scaled figure with the extremely apt and deft mecha imagery from FoxBox, and that's all you need to know of now, and be excited about, IMHO!
