"13 Things Which Made My 2013" from CLOGTWO
WHAT: "Earlier in 2013, I interviewed 13 Creators worth looking out for, and for the end of 2013, I had asked a select few to list "13 Things Which Made My 2013"."
A fabulous street and urban art-fueled lookback at 2013 from CLOGTWO; easily one of the exceedingly small line-up of local artists I admire and idolize! Much respect for the work he has put thru and am constantly looking forward to what he has and will concoct in the days to come! [This was Eman's Interview]
CLOGTWO: It was really an honor to be commissioned by NIKE to do a graffiti piece for their street soccer event at one of the best memorable venue ever, the old train station at Tanjong Pagar. It really brings back old memories when I was a kid riding the train from Singapore to Malacca.
CLOGTWO: Another event that happened that year was the launch of the MachineMouth book and the art of Clogtwo. It’s really an unforgettable experience for me when all my friends, fans and families were all brought together to celebrate my years of practice. And remembering this day of my first solo show and published book.
CLOGTWO: Together with RSCLS collective down in Philippines for an urban exchange program: SOLIDARITY MOVEMENT. It’s not about just paintings walls and skills, but what’s more important for us was the idea of exchanging culture, politics and history.
CLOGTWO: One of the most interesting projects that I’ve worked on was on a wheel chair for a group show organized by KULT: UNBREAKABLE.
CLOGTWO: At the training shed once every month, but what so special about this time round? Is because it was the final one for the year and we were paired up with Germans and was my first time meeting the legendary BOND, who’s works are TRON-ish.
CLOGTWO: Before I flew off to Japan, we were really excited about this year’s SOLIDARITY MOVEMENT event in Singapore, The Indonesia stage. Again, what an experience to learn new cultures, language, history and art techniques from them. It’s really an amazing perspective towards how they work on the wall.
CLOGTWO: DSTRY clothing first ever collaboration the two founders CLOG and CABLE.
CLOGTWO: Inkten and myself will always remember this day, when we were invited to Atlanta, Georgia, USA. For the Heineken mural project to paint a 3 stories high building of the iconic malay warrior and princess, Hang Tuah and Putri Gunung Ledang. Our way of saying that we exist.
CLOGTWO: An invitation to POPASIA 2013 toy convention was nerve wrecking for me, giving talks, live showcase and book signing. Along side this journey is Angry Woes, Mighty Jaxx and Inkten.
CLOGTWO: The RSCLS collective get together for the 36 Chambers. This is one of the first few big murals we’ve done before the obsession of going big.
CLOGTWO: Met Angry Woebots for the first time at Jeff’s FLABSLAB. Before knowing him in person, me and my friend, DEM would always view his works on sites and studied his vinyl toys. And now, finally met him painted with him locally and internationally and have been friends since then. Haha.
CLOGTWO: The massive 9 hours mural painting battle with Katun from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Have always wanted to do a collaboration with this dude, and with much effort and planning, the battle finally took place in Singapore, behind Aliwal Arts Centre.
CLOGTWO: And to close the window of 2013, Ink and Clog, visited Japan, and terrorize the country like Godzillas.
