How To Identify Bootleg LEGOs (Part One)
Picked up a couple of bootleg LEGOs Mini Figures at a weekend flea market (FYI: Mini fig bootlegs are extremely rampant in Singapore and part of the Asian region now) and am sharing deboxing pics with you readers now, with the aim to help YOU in Identifing Bootleg LEGOs!
From "ZHIAO" brand comes the IRON PATRIOT. Once you open up the clear plastic bag in the box, first glaring thing you'd notice is a katana(Samurai sword) out of the parts! The makers of this piece were kind to have the main part of the mini-fig all built up already LOL
And of course another hallmark of bootleggery, are the inescapable typos, and I can but wonder what it would really look like if indeed there was a "Herd Series" :p
"IQ BLOCKS" proudly prints the "enhanced body armor" (my words) in graphics on the box for their MARK 2, and might well be missed if your attention was on the frontal image instead. And true to bootleg form, an additional pack of accessories can be found within the box! Once assembled, the finished figure leaves you scratching your head "WHY?", but like oft bootleg LEGOS, additional accessories (most probably from other genres) are a bonus for kitbashing, methinks!
Well, at least they got the spelling right in this set! LOL
