Rewind&Play: Vinyl Addiction (Episodes 12+13+14)
I miss Vinyl Addiction. Having been in the media industry for a near decade (in my previous life) and working to television magazine-styled shows, I admire the effort executed for these episodes, from filming, to editing, to the graphics, Vinyl Addiction was and still is an awesome watch! Darn, now I need to rematch the ENTIRE SERIES~! hahaha
I had a couple of questions for Immortal Studios' Jesse Hernandez about the show, with his answers to be read after this episode:
TOYSREVIL: Whatever happened to Vinyl Addiction?
JESSE HERNANDEZ: It was an honor and a privilege to get to shoot with so many awesome people involved in the Vinyl Scene while it lasted. Vinyl Addiction was only greenlighted for one season while I was working at MYXtv.
Despite the awesome response it got, there was no more funding for in-house shows. I tried shopping the show to a few other networks such as G4 and MTV but unfortunately they didn’t pick it up.
TOYSREVIL: What's it's current status? And when can we expect the next episode?
JESSE HERNANDEZ: The current status is that it's over for now. If the opportunity to bring it back in one form or another ever came about, I’m absolutely interested.
TOYSREVIL-SAYS: Anyone reading this? Think of it not just for television programming (although I would live to see this being on-air and promoting the culture), but also possibly as an internet-program? Sponsored by a retailer or chain brand, perhaps?
Beyond the current crop of home-styled recorded videos rampant on YouTube (which are awesome by itself), we need programming such as this, to promote our culture, beyond news-bites from established broadcasters of whatever "illegal streetart" had perpetuated society, ya know? LOL
