Finally, after all these years, Singapore gets to have their own "Star Wars Day" celebrations, the "May The 4th SG " event happening Sunday, May the 4th @ the Jurong Regional Library
(21 Jurong East Central 1, Singapore)!
Activities include:
- Special appearance by 501st Legion Singapore Garrison
- Performance and workshop session by FightSaber Singapore
- Star Wars toys display by Hasbro Singapore
- “Once-Upon-A-Stormtrooper” fan fiction contest
- X-Wing Miniatures tabletop game demo, workshops and activities for kids and fanatics.
- A Public Screening of "Plastic Galaxy: A History of Star Wars Toys" by Brian Stillman (see video below):
- "Live" doodling session by the artists from "Band of Doodlers"
- Showcase and Sale custom stormtrooper helmets by local and overseas artists where all proceeds from sale of the helmets will go towards helping the less privileged.
I've featured both local artist Samantha Lo's and Wetworks' pieces, as well as our buddy from The Philippine QUICCS' Fortress Trooper. Shown below here are pieces from Anthea 'Ratking" Tan (Wompa-on-head WIP) and Daniel Yu's camo trooper:
