Toy-Review: MODERN HERO from Mad*L Phase:4 by MAD Toy Design
Today we have a closer look at the 3rd and final MAD*L in MAD Toy Design's Phase:4, with MODERN HERO joining MAEMAEMON and MAD APE. We've seen the booze & packaging, so today we focus on the 5" tall figure itself!
As far as I know, this MAD*L is the first to feature "accessories" - including his $-necklace (with plastic chain) and a removable top hat, for this character well synonymous with Jeremy Madl's designs, which has also seen incarnations as Coin Banks and Dunnys. Perfect for celebrating the MADL-brand's 10th Anniversary, and well worth the wait.
And I do not know if it was deliberate or a coincidence, but all three MADLs names started with e letter "M" too! Push comes to shove, I would heartily recommend you score this particular piece, as it serves as a prime representation of Jeremy Madl's work, in the see that it is designed by himself, on his own platform vinyl figure, and made by his own on brand SOLID Industries :)
Currently, you'd only be able to procure the "Regular" colorway of Modern Hero as 3 x piece Set for US$100 (Do check in with your fav retailers for availability otherwise). And as well the VARIANT edition (seen above) is scheduled to be released May 30th via www.madtoydesign.com.
FYI: The MADLs purchased direct from MAD Toy Store comes signed by Jeremy Madl, unless you indicate otherwise during purchase :)
