Lavabear: Classic Edition Vinyl by Nathan Hamill x 3D Retro for #SDCC 2014
Nathan Hamill prepares to release his LAVABEAR vinyl figure from 3D Retro, with the first version, the "Classic Edition" to be unleashed circa San Diego Comic Con 2014 (July 24-27). We've previously seen this character in a myriad of 2D-illustrations and prints from Nathan, and am thrilled to see it made 3D now!
Standing 8 inches tall, this edition of a brand new sculpted form is limited to 125 pieces, and available via the 3DRetro Booth #5049.
STORY: "Lavabear was once a shapeless, colorless being created from stardust by The Those. Over time, he rose into a vibrant, ursine-esque creature. His sole purpose was to guard the entrance to the Sacred Realms of Märchen and, along with it, its memories, treasures, and secrets.
The legend goes that if awoken from his deep hibernation, those foolhardy enough to trespass on his Sacred Grounds will be met with a terrible and ancient wrath. His paws, it was said, shall lower, igniting the Eyes of Ulyssia and, with it, one thousand cursed flames.
Once alive, Lavabear will seek down the intruders and bury their bones in his fiery belly … returning him once again to his deep, sound slumber."
