Seymour Art for UNAMERICAN ACTIVITY @ Toy Art Gallery (Opens Nov 14)
WHAT: Counting down to the launch of the 3-man show UNAMERICAN ACTIVITY at Toy Art Gallery on Friday November 14th, we take a look at works from Seymour Art today! Along with a fun little micro Q&A, of course:)
TOYSREVIL: What have you planned for the show?
SEYMOUR: As there wasn't really a set brief for this show I decided to just have a bit of fun with the sculpts. This collection is loosely based on famous American hustlers and brawlers.
The characters themselves are all one offs however they have modified cast resin bodies, and free form sculpted heads, then a mix of airbrush and hand paint.
TOYSREVIL: : How "Un-American" are you?
SEYMOUR: I think my New Zealand accent makes me pretty Un-American ;) Apart from that, it's pretty hard to be Un-American if your from a place like NZ or Australia. I grew up following the NBA, collecting Garbage Pail Kids, most of the 80s and 90s trends got to us at some stage. Halloween is only starting to take off now though!TOYSREVIL: Check out more works and updates from Seymour Art AKA Peter Kelk via hs Instagram @seymourart / Facebook / www.seymourart.net!
