Toy Review: 3 Balls CE - Bangkok Comic Con 2014 Exclusive Release
We have a look at the Benzilla-designed 3BALLS Edition on a CE articulated toy from CE Planet / MAFIA Factory, an exclusive release for Bangkok Comic Con 2014 earlier in July.
Housed in a "standard" CE plastic blister tray packaging, with easily removable backing board access, the piece is limited to 100pcs, with mine numbered #44. Each piece has also been signed by the artist himself, prior to sales on the shelf, so this is an interesting approach. Included is also a printed card with the artist mentioned, for which he could sign on / autograph in person instead, and then present together WITH the toy. Saves the entire act of signing on toy, or on display pack etc, doesn't it? What do you think of this happenstance, folks? :)
Besides articulated hands/arms and feet, the CE toy itself features a swiveling "helmet", over a swiveling neck with TWO heads to be shown, simply by twisting the around (seen in #playingwith video clip below), one of the key features of the CE toy.
The design itself features a controlled color combination of yellow with black and a hint of purple, on a predominately white figure base. The line-work used showcases Benzilla's "sketch/doodle", likened to as if he drew on the figure itself, methinks. Which works fine for me, and appreciated it (hence the purchase lol), with the only downside being the "earphones" on the sides of the "helmet", looking like it has been "smudged", even though it is the actual design, IMHO.
The 3 BALLS" character is a reoccurring motif from Thai artist Benzilla, and is seen in his grafitti / mural works, as well as the basis of a new collectible from Pobber Toy, being released over the weekend in Thailand! Do check in with MAFIA Factory for availability of this CE edition tho :)
