SUMMER SOUL 2018 is the name of a one-day only expo/event in Hong Kong, held on Saturday August 18th (11am-5pm) at MacPherson Stadium (On-site tickets: HK$250). This inaugural event is organised by Superman Toys and Toy Soul HK, and is likened to a "sister event" to the annual TOY SOUL (*not "replacing" it), which will happen still in December (14th-16th) ... which reminds me of "Wonder Festival (Summer)" and "Winter" Editions (*my speculation) ... but with so close a timeline, collector's wallets can hardly breathe, can they? LOL

Then again, I'm not as active a collector these days (alas), and with the blossoming of toy-focused expos, events and shows happening in the East (predominantly in Hong Kong and China), looks to be toy-collectors' appetites have a need to be sated, innit? Fab news for toymakers worldwide, and especially for independent artists - who in recent years have been able to travel far, along with their products/designs! With more folks stepping into production themselves - including artists themselves and toy-shops, as opposed to "toy-brands" (perhaps) a decade ago the market is flooded (hopefully in a good way) with more choices and varieties from more parts of the world than anyone - certainly myself - could have imagined, when I first started this blog in 2005 OMG!
