Yoii & Tomodachii Island's Dunny Designs Revealed for #SpiritusDea by Kidrobot (for Sept 27 release)
Revealed over the weekend were TWO new Dunny designs for the upcoming "Spiritus Dea" series, featuring designs by Emelie Jensen AKA "Tomodochi Island" and Anna Johnston AKA "Yoii"!
Scheduled for a Friday, September 27th (at 10am MT) drop on Kidrobot.com and at select retailers, let's find more about these two character figures, shall we?
"Diana is an ancient Roman woodland goddess of wild animals and hunting. This depiction of Diana, complete with a rabbit draped over her head, stems from Yoii’s desire to present a modern iteration of Diana as more of a protector than a hunter."
"Inari Ōkami is a goddess of fertility, love, and agriculture who brings prosperity to her devotees. Interchangeably depicted as male, female, or kitsune (fox), it is the latter representation that resonated most with artist Tomadachi Island, due to her strong connection to foxes which are frequently used in her work. Of this beautifully sculpted Dunny, she says "I've made my own interpretation of Inari, bringing fox and female into one.""
