New Guest Line-Up Revealed for Singapore Comic Con (Dec 7-8) including feature on Jason Freeny!
Another round of Guests has been announced for this year's Singapore Comic Con 2019 (7-8 December), as we prepare to welcome comicbook artists Andy Kubert and Whilce Portacio to Singapore!!!!!
Other names include Game Art Director, Mufizal Mokhtar, and YouTube trio from New Zealand, Viva La Dirt League (yes, youtube personalities are a thing now for ComicCon). The name we'll take a closer look today is JASON FREENY, returning to SG after STGCC 2017 hosted by Mighty Jaxx! I've never met the man personally, but managed to snap pictures of him signing :)
ARTIST BIO: "Jason Freeny is a New York based sculptor, illustrator and toy designer, mostly known for his iconic and ironic anatomical character dissections. Jason utilizes his industrial design prototyping techniques to create hyper-polished, hand made sculptures that are often confused as actual mass produced toys. Starting almost 20 years ago with his first fictional illustrated diagram, Jason went into full toy production when he teamed up with Singapore based Mighty Jaxx in 2013.
Jason continues to explore new sculptural concepts, openly displaying his process and techniques in extensive work-in-progress posts on social media as well as teaching toy design at School of Visual Arts in New York City. Through his almost 30 year career, Jason has lent his skills to such clients as MTV, Nickelodeon, Penthouse, TimeOutNewYork, WIRED, Heavy Metal, Planet Hollywood and Disney. Jason has had the honor of solo exhibits in Tokyo, Los Angeles, Shanghai and Taipei.
This will be Jason’s third appearance at SGCC where he considers it one of his favorite places to visit."

Releases with Mighty Jaxx
Jason Freeny has just released the Sesame Street XXRAY figures with Mighty Jaxx, and most recently concluded his JASON FREENY ASIA show in Taiwan. It would be interesting to see what exclusives (if any) has been planned to be released to coincide with this year's appearance! Brand new figure reveals? New colorway editions of old favourites? After all this would be the inaugural launch of the new "Singapore Comic Con" ident...! Anything YOU'd like to see be released?
