"This is going to be the 4th installment of the series of shows that I created 1 year ago. Being a toy designer in Oz has been an up and down journey of discovery, epic fails and great victories, but it has all come down to this final show happening a few weeks before I return to Indonesia. What I set out to do one year ago is coming to its climax with the simple question: is there hope for an Australian modern toy scene?" ~ shared Cipta Croft-Cusworth of Good Guys Never Win Toys Co. "There are several noteworthy names in this next show including ADi Brierly & Wendy Olsen, but the real gems are the artists who never considered being known as a toy artist until I met them and told them, "hey you ARE a toy artist!".
"It's a strange urban art scene here in Melbourne... very trendy, constantly evolving, but Toys never became a mainstream. It feels good to have remained on the outskirts of underground, but if I am ever to make a future for myself in this strange land, I have needed to create a scene where I can belong and expand."
