SUPER SHOGUN OPTIMUS PRIME by Super7 on pre-order & seen at New York Toy Fair 2020
Revealed in person at this weekend's New York Toy Fair, is the jumbo version of OPTIMUS PRIME from Super7, who is currently being solicited for pre-orders online (Deets below). I had hoped to see images of the figure in the arms of someone (to see the size comparison), but this is just as effective, seeing it next to the 3.75" tall ReAction figure (of course the blister card is bigger lol).
"#ToyFair reveal this project was a dream on many levels and I could not be more proud of our team and the work we did to help @super7 @brianflynn @jjoshuajh and @wlodygadude realise their glorious vision for this amazing #jumbo #optimusprime #transformers we worked closely with Kyle and his team to execute the sculpt and deliver a fully painted functional sample to the show. Can’t wait to see how the fans will react and can’t wait to do more. Thanks #super7 for the continued cooperation and friendship". (Klim Kozinevich for @bigshottoyworks)
Standing 24-inches tall, the design of this "Super Shogun Optimus Prime" is inspired by the 1970's Shogun Warriors toy line, and has G1-era accurate paint job and detailing.
Possessing three points of articulation, the vinyl figure features wheels on feet for rolling combat action. Further playability comes with a spring-loaded “rocket firing” left fist, and a removable Ion Blaster.
Figurewise, the chest opens to reveal removable Matrix of Leadership. The set will include sticker sheet for customizable display.
Currently launched for pre-orders online here for US$350.00, note that the pre-order window for Super Shogun Optimus Prime will close on Tuesday, March 31st, 2020. U.S. Domestic orders will receive free shipping for this release.
"The Super Shogun Optimus Prime is a made-to-order release and we expect to ship these figures in Winter 2020. This release will ship separately from other pre-order releases."
Super7 had previously worked with Lucasfilm on their first major release: The Super Shogun Stormtrooper, and there was even a Shadowtrooper and Boba Fett (under the "Vinyl Sugar" line from Funko). Ten years later and Super7 is adding a new member to the Super7 Super Shogun world with Optimus Prime. I wonder if "MEGATRON" will join this line too?
