Introducing APO NEWT by Twelvedot

Twelvedot has revealed a "APO NEWT", with this hand-sculpted piece a "concept work", of an adorable "Newt", to perhaps join his APO Frog toy-brethren? Would be interesting to see a new character form from South Korea-based artist, with the visual iconology identifiable and perfect for a family of character figures, IMHO. Did you know "APO" is short for "apocalypse"?

"TWELVEDOT studio’s aftr. project aims at reviewing our world and environment through one of the most fragile lifeforms on our planet, frogs. Starting off with the development of the frog-motif font, named ‘frog,’ info-graphics based on the new font, the ‘aftr’ storybook and illustration work, TWELVEDOT studio has branched out into the creation of artwork and art toys under the brand name of APO FROGS, short for apocalypse frogs." This Newt looks HUGE compared to their Frog counterparts too! Of course this is just a "concept sculpt", and not the final pice.

"Trying to figure out how to proceed on production as the current design presents a few challenges. Will keep you posted on further developments! "

UPDATED: "We are now taking steps to proceed on small-volume production of 8-inch resin pieces of the APO Newt in its original design, and thought we'd reveal the backside to show how the newt is balanced on its tail. Mass production in a smaller form and simpler design will need to wait until plants come back on line in earnest. We have yet to fix a schedule for preorders and target delivery date for the resin pieces but will keep you posted on our progress. Thank you! Everyone stay safe and healthy!"
