DUNE: Trailer & Stills for the Denis Villeneuve-Directed Epic!
"A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive."
Oscar nominee Denis Villeneuve (“Arrival,” “Blade Runner 2049”) directs Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ “Dune,” the big-screen adaptation of Frank Herbert’s seminal bestseller of the same name. The film is slated to be released in theaters on December 18, 2020.
Director Denis Villeneuve mentioned that this will be 2 X Movies (no "trilogy"?), as reported on slashfilm.com, and I am reminded of the David Lynch-directed 136 minutes version in 1984 (186 minutes in the 1988 TV version), and remembering how incredibly dense it was (although I have not read the novel source), and as well the pace of Villeneuve's movies are not exactly "neck breaking" (one of the main reasons I adore his work), so I welcome the opportunity to embrace two, if not THREE of "DUNE", IMHO...!
Here are some released stills (Previously featured on POPCORNX) to help in the hype... :)
