Since the character reveal, folks might have noticed the lack of the "colour timer" on Ultraman's chest, which has followed all incarnations on television and films. But fi this particular "SHIN ULTRAMAN" version (Planning / Screenplay: Hideaki Anno + Director: Shinji Higuchi), the character design is based on a 1983 painting by the late Toru Narita (1929–2002), titled "Truth and Justice and the Incarnation of Beauty", which does not feature said color timer:
